Exam Introduction

State-wise selection of officers for public services is done by “Gujarat Public Service Commission. The structure of this exam conducted by GPSC since 2000 is similar to the recruitment exam conducted by UPSC for IAS / IPS /IFS /IRS etc. posts. From time to time, UPSC introduced one instead of two optional subjects in General Aptitude in 2010 and Mains in 2013.
There were policy changes like optional subjects. It is largely reflected in the syllabus published by GPSC on January 1, 2014. The new syllabus has come into effect on February 4, 2017. Accordingly, Essay question paper has been included in main examination instead of optional subject. Apart from that, three question papers have been made instead of two question papers of General Studies. Hence GPSC exam preparation will be very useful for students preparing for UPSC exam.
